Supermicro

4u servers have a diverse product line, but they’re best known for their high-end workstation and server offerings. Founded in 1987, the company has been steadily growing since the release of the first 4u server. We’ve selected some products that garnered praise from reviewers to illustrate better what this company has to offer.

Supermicro: Supermicro is one of the most well-known manufacturers of computer servers on our list, and for a good reason. From their fairly standard tower model to their more unique rack models, Supermicro covers all bases for any user’s needs. Their servers are designed to be efficient, powerful, and user-friendly.

Supermicro – 4u rack mount server

The Supermicro SC846 is a 4u rack mount server with a relatively standard internal configuration. It sports Xeon E5-2600 v2 series processors, up to 768GB of DDR4 memory, two 2.5″ drives for RAID storage, ten 3.5″ HDD bays for standard storage options, and one optical drive bay for an optional CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drive. A typical configuration offers six SATA 3 6GBps ports, two 10GbE SFP+ ports, and four 1GbE ports in addition to the two Gigabit Ethernet ports built into the motherboard.

Supermicro – SuperBlade Server Chassis

The Superblade chassis from Supermicro is unique in its own right. It allows for mounting multiple blade servers, each of which can be customized independently of the others. Choosing from a wide variety of supported Supermicro Xeon processors, you can further customize and build your server to the high power needs your business requires.

There are 19 slots available in the chassis, which can be populated with up to 15 blades; this means you have a maximum capacity of 255 nodes that can be settled according to your individual needs. Nodes are cooled by internal fans and provided with power via redundant or non-redundant standard AC/DC PSUs, depending on your configuration.

Supermicro – 8 port vertical SATA expansion card

This expansion board allows for connecting up to eight additional devices, which are mounted as drives using an industry-standard power and data interface. The board is designed to support high-performance drives and data transfer rates up to 6 Gbps, with options for both SATA and SAS ports available. With two integrated fan headers, the onboard microcontroller keeps the drives from overheating and ensures complete functionality.

The industrial-grade compact design of this product makes it suitable for any use. It fits in a standard PCI slot with a short 36cm cable, has 12V and 3.3V power supply support, and can be placed on a standard 40mm-deep rack. It’s also compatible with mounting holes for traditional 19″ racks and can easily be used in harsh industrial environments, thanks to its IP30 rating.

Supermicro – Server CPU heatsinks (2 of them)

The Supermicro LGA 3647 CPU heatsink is small and convenient for upgrading your server to the latest CPU or replacing older processors. The heat pipe set makes it possible to ensure cool air is provided to the CPU directly from the top slot. In addition, the cooling fins help dissipate heat by taking advantage of airflow from the case’s rear exhausts.

Supermicro – Dual-ported redundant power supply

It is a redundant, dual-ported power supply with two standard 12V 15A power supplies. The separately controlled and integrated AC/DC PSUs ensure outstanding redundancy while providing a stable and reliable power source.

These features provide better reliability and performance, which you can expect from a Supermicro product.

Supermicro – 4u servers rack with 8puc bays (no SAS cards)

The PUC8274B is a high-performance server rack that serves as the chassis for the SC8200 series 4u servers. It offers eight hot-swap 3.5-inch drive bays and eight expansion slots, two of which are x8 PCI Express 3.0 connections. 4u servers also compatible with two SFF8087 CPU backplanes for the X9SRI-F and X10SRA motherboards.

Supermicro – 2u server rack (no SAS cards)

The PUC2B7266 is a top-of-the-line 2U server rack that can accommodate dual power supplies and a full range of Supermicro server options. It offers seven hot-swap drive bays with redundant AC/DC PSUs, eleven expansion slots, and dual hot-swap fans.

Supermicro products are designed to be robust, reliable and efficient. With support for various processors and adapters, they can support any application while giving you the flexibility you need in a 4u servers .
